| If you ever feel idle or bored, don’t miss a chance to enter the library of UA. Once inside the library, you don’t seem to take notice of time. A huge and a variety of books will just keep you occupied. There are ample of reference books on Science, Commerce, Arts, English and Dzongkha. These books will surely help you clear your doubts and improve your grammar if you take some time to go through them. |

Those who are a voracious reader can get the taste of different books ranging from folktales to classic novels, from short stories to fiction and nonfiction novels. If you are not in a mood to read the novels, seeing their thickness; we would suggest you to borrow one of Sherlock Holmes’ short stories or any other short story from the library. There are also classic novels by William Wordsworth, Thomas Hardy, Mark Twain and many others. One could also get a look at Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, The Tale of Two Cities and other stories by him and also Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. |

Do you wish to learn about other countries or continents without actually traveling to that place? You could do that by getting a copy of Lands and People from the library. It will help you to know the population, the people, the religion, the currency, the capital and any other such information you want about a particular place. Apart from these text books and novels racking your brain, why not get into the depth of your ideas by referring some of the encyclopedias available in the library. You would find a diversity of encyclopedia on Time and Space, Universe, Science and Technology, Science encyclopedia and Human Body encyclopedia. You can also look up for information on any topic with its index using the Britannica book. It provides you with brief information. |

If you are in dare need of building up your I.Q; just take some time and read the general knowledge books, Reader Digest and Competition Success Review. There is space for sports person as well where you would want to rush and take a look at the Sport star in the library. Your exams are approaching near but don’t worry; library is there for you to help get a copy of past question papers. We keep a collection of past mid-term, annual, trial and board exam questions to make the students acquainted with the question pattern. |

We get a daily copy of Kuensel and four copies each of Bhutan Times and Bhutan Observer once a week. We also receive a copy of the daily Sunday Statesman, the Sunday Times, The Statesman and the Times of India. We not only get to know what is happening in Bhutan but also we are able to know the happenings of the world especially about India, our dearest and nearest neighboring nation. Our school library is also a place where you would find a collection of past newspapers. We file up information on different topics like Spirituality, Youth Issues, Science and Technology, Health, Sports and Crime and of course History and Politics. These works are being carried out by the students in their SUPW period. |

A collection of dictionaries ranging from Oxford to the Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary, where one can get the meanings of the most difficult word, is also at your service in our library. There are books on literature providing us information about the lives of famous poets and authors and their literary works. If you want to learn the art of carpentry, our library also constitutes books on carpentry, machinery and Arts and Crafts. Our library also has got a copy of Guinness book of world record 2002 and the latest one; Ripley’s believe it or not 2009. There are also Year books ranging from 2003 to 2007 where one could learn about people, places ideas, events, G.K and Quiz.

You will also find a shelf full of Books on Bhutan written by foreign writers as well as Bhutanese authors. The range of books includes Bhutanese Tales of the Yeti and Folk Tales of Bhutan by Kunzang Choden, Rainbows and Clouds by Queen Mother Azhi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, which has been translated in Korean language as well. This book mainly constitutes the life of her father, Dasho Yab Ugyen Dorji, the founder and the proprietor of Ugyen Academy. The students of Ugyen Academy have ample opportunities to update their knowledge and ideas by becoming a voracious reader. They can access to the Library during their library periods, free periods and after the school is over where the library will remain open up to 5:30 PM in the evening. UA Library is not only a place to beckon with knowledge to the students but it is also the most useful place to the teachers who visit it to update their ideas, refer books related to their respective subjects and prepare notes for the daily lesson. |
