Believing that sports and games are integral to healthy development, the school has created infrastructure that allow students to play a wide variety of sports - from team games like basketball to individual sports like chess, from outdoor games like cricket to indoor games like basketball, badminton and table-tennis.
Games and sports not only help us to keep our body fit but it also teach important lessons about teamwork and tenacity, UA encourages both students and faculty to participate and to do so they have provided an ample facilities; football & cricket fields, swimming pool (presently under construction), volleyball & badminton courts. There are basketball and tennis courts and areas set aside for the practice of khuru and archery.
The school formally recognizes the importance of sport in the growth of an individual by awarding deserving sportspersons with colors and by holding an annual sports banquet which recognizes the sporting achievement of school students.
The sports committee arranges tournaments throughout the year in all sports and games. Highlights are school Sports Day and the Inter-Dzongkhag and school Monsoon Football Tournament held in the fall, both of which are celebrated with much solemnity and display.
There is also an annual marathon (00 kms for Boys and 00kms for Girls). The School has both boy’s and girl’s football teams that participate in the inter-school football tournaments.
