Extra Curricular Activities in UA

Ugyen Academy has secured a very good result in all the activities,both academics and co curricular activities. The school conducts various literary activities such as debate, quiz, essay competition, poetry recitation, exhibition etc. Ugyen academy is known for her diverse cultural activities.School provides a platform for the young aspring artists. Believing that sports and games are integral to healthy development, the school has created infrastructure that allow students to play a wide variety of sports - from team games like basketball to individual sports like chess, from outdoor games like cricket to indoor games like basketball, badminton and table-tennis. Read more SUPW Projects (Socially Useful and Productive Works) Besides the general subjects taught at all the levels, SUPW forms an equally important subject of the Bhutanese School curriculum. At UA too we give utmost priority to SUPW as a subject for which a 50 minutes period has been allocated to each class, in a week. The students in the consultation with their class teachers develop an annual SUPW project plan, get it approved by the school administration and implement or execute the project with full time supervision of the class teachers concern. For promotion to the next higher grade, students need to pass the SUPW.SUPW grades will be based on the work records maintained by the class/subject teacher. The final grades for the students who sit for the national Board Examinations will be finalizes through a meeting with the concern class/subject teacher. The Board Examination result also reflects the SUPW grades which will further help students seeking admission into tertiary institutions. It has to be taken seriously as the grade one gets matters a lot for the both home examinations as well as in getting admission in tertiary education both within as well as outside. |
